C'est Vrai

Just a couple of (the many) good lines from last night's John Adams on HBO, which was wonderful.

“If ever there was a city designed to distract us from our troubles, it would be Paris.” -Thomas Jefferson

“Women would add interest to many things, Mr. Jefferson, if men would allow it.” -Abigail Adams

I have been LOVING this miniseries. The interplay between Linney and Giamatti is wonderful; they really do justice to the writing and the wonderful story of Abigail and John Adams. I've had McCullough's book in my coffers forever; I've really got to pull it out and finally read it. He's one of those writers that writes nonfiction to read just like fiction - and that's a good thing.

I think I'm gonna have to catch it on demand...

BTW, Linda - Mike and I are split. He thinks the final Cylon is Adama ("the old man", not Lee) and I think it's Starbuck. Who do you think it is?

I'm guessing Starbuck too...but as I get further caught in this, the whole "people/good" and "cylon/bad" thing is getting blurred...

I mean when Lee even said to his dad, had his brother been born a Cylon, would it have mattered?

Doesn't Saul Tigh remind you of McCain?

I totally don't think it's either of the Adamas... Maybe Laura Roslyn...

I think they're blurring the good/bad lines on purpose. I find the religion interplay very interesting, considering the religious conservatism sweeping the nation is dividing us right now.

Okay, I'm geeking myself out now. Starbuck's a toaster. We wait and see now...

Nah, not one of the Adamas, even though Mike swears it's the old man.

So Hera was the first Cylon hybrid, but now with Chief having had a baby with Callie, there's another one that no one knows about. Hmmm... wonder if that's occurred to Chief?
