&*!@#$% Damn DVR!

I had dvr'd GG because my daughter had basketball practice last night, and my dvr cut off just as the teaser for next week's episode began! Time Warner, you've mastered digital polling, but can you not extend the playing time of a show to allocate for teasers? Aaargh.

Hated the first half of GG last night, loved the second. Who gives a flying .... what color Lorelai paints the house? I mean really. I realize she's burying herself in busy tasks and avoiding the real issues at hand, and questioned her own abilities as a mother, which I well, question too. I guess all moms do that. Call me horrible, but I could really give 2 cents about Paul Anka. Yes, pets are sweet, they are not PEOPLE. Never will be.

The scenes with Rory and Jess were great-refreshing, honest, the best part of the show. I was so proud of him that he wrote and published a book! You can tell they've got great chemistry, hence their real-life long-term relationship. Even Rory's scenes with Logan, while I abhored his conduct, the acting was good.

It's all got me thinking about how I'd handle the possibility of if Amanda wanted to take time off in college? Right now, I know Ian and I would seriously put our foot down about it and urge her to stay on track..but at that point, she'd be an adult...Ian left college to raise Amanda...sigh. It's hard to think about it all.

The part where Lorelai was upset about the dog, was totally about being upset about Rory... so good.

I never liked Jess, and now I'm upset that they're turning Logan into a jerk. I thought that by having him be ultra-privledged and cocky, but a nice guy at the same time, that was breaking the mold on stereotype. But now, I don't know. I just am not happy about it.

My TIVO cut off the preview too, so I didn't see it either... I was so annoyed.

It did seem odd that Logan seemed so jealous of Jess immediately, never even saw or heard of the guy before, kind of unlike him, he's usually more laid back. Clearly the guy has issues of his own to deal with, being groomed for something he's completely not interested in.

I've been back and forth with Jess, but where he is now is a good place...I'm curious to see what will happen with he and Rory.

And yes, I know Lorelai was totally projecting on Paul Anka all her feelings about Rory, it just seems so long, even in tv time, for her to be realizing things, I don't know...it's very frustrating! But I guess that's what they're aiming for. The payoff better be huge!

yeah, you're right, it had better...

well I saw the teaser, and it was disturbing. The gist was: Rory goes home, Loralai says 'now we can set a date!' but the voiceover warns taht a dark secret from Luke's past wil resurface. Ick. I hope this is just more meaningless buildup like logans birkin bag.

I loved the part with Jes too. I really liked Logan last season, but now it seems like he's just there to represent the choice Rory has to make between two differen sets of values, and it seem pretty clear to me that she's going to choose Loralai's over her grandparents'.

Never liked Logan, glad Rory's finally coming around.

It's a testament to this show that Jess, who was probably my least favorite character in his time is brought back and is the very likable voice of reason. Great twist, that's why I like this show.

And I thought after Jess stormed off, Logan turned off the 'jerk' front and showed he's very much the same person he always was - a poor little rich boy (oh boo hoo - honestly what you girls saw in him I'll never understand, I guess thats why your girls I suppose).

Anyway as good as the Jess/Logan stuff was, I really liked Rory finally standing up to grandma even more. Good to see her finally getting a backbone.

Agree with Lauren - whether or not there is really a 'dark secret' from Luke's past I must say the next episode previews pretty much suck, its obvious the people that do them don't watch the show and have no idea what its appeal is.

I'm tired of trailer trickery. Seriously, everything lately has these big buildups, and then it has very little to do with what actually happens.

I don't always like the general commercials they come up with for the show either, it gives off a different vibe than what the show is all about...like all they show Lorelai and Rory arguing about who has bigger boobs. Very deceptive.

Alright folks, so let's take guesses on Luke's dark secret...

He's actually Rory's grandma's lovechild after she had one night stand from a shag under the bleachers at a Yale football game.

He's Rory's grandmother's secret boytoy.

He and Kirk are lovers.

He is shtumping Miss Patty.

Feel free to add your theories!

lol linda.
Luke is from krypton, and can't tell Loralai about his super powers because she'll be in danger.

Luke is Loralai's father

Luke is really Lane's father! YOu know how you never really see Mr. Kim? Luke is Mr. Kim.

So far I like Linda's best
